Basile

Founded in 1951 as the fashion house of Remo Basile, some of the most highly esteemed names in Italian style have worked there, including Albini, Tarlazzi, Soprani and Versace.

In 1970, Remo’s son Gianfranco turned it into a clothing industry for a rigorous and refined total look that still retains its sartorial tradition. It soon became the first company in Italy to industrially produce men’s and women’s prêt-a-porter with a sartorial cut and a particular attention to the choice of fabrics.

It was also the first label to attract Italian and overseas buyers, who at the time only went to Florence and Rome, to Milan. Basile has always been synonymous of class, rigour, refined lines and attention to detail.

Conceptually avant-garde, Basile has played a particularly interesting role in the history of Italian fashion, also due to the fact it was the first fashion house to understand a certain kind of potential, encourage new talents and elaborate strategies that pushed “Made in Italy” to the levels it now enjoys.

Basile is not content with its prestigious history, but continues to try to stand out. Thus, attentively following a current lifestyle trend, the fashion house now offers a complete range of accessories that include ties, headscarves, scarves, bags, purses, glasses, fragrances, umbrellas, nightwear, footwear, men’s and women’s underwear and collections for the home.
